What's The Difference?

Ophthalmologist
Ophthalmologists are Medical Doctors who specialize in treating the eyes.  Ophthalmologists can perform eye surgery, prescribe glasses, treat eye diseases and fit contact lenses.

Optometrist
Optometrists give eye exams, diagnose problems and prescribe glasses and contact lenses.  They are not Medical Doctors.

Optician
Opticians fit, supply and adjust eyeglasses and fit contact lenses.  But an optician can't examine eyes, prescribe glasses or medication.
